Woodland Studios Testimonials
Alan matted and framed a poster done by my friend. He did an excellent job. I intend to bring more work to him in the future!
My daughter and I visited last weekend and we were both amazed at the variety, talent, diversity and detailed knowledge of individual artist's techniques described to us by the owner. I am definitely getting my next series framed or gallery wrapped canvas printing done locally!
Impressed by quality and variety of art. The owner is very knowledgeable about the artists and framing, plus has a wonderful historical collection as well. It was so much more than I expected in researching galleries around the Madison area! I definitely recommend.
Alan Sheets was wonderful to work with. He's a master printer who skillfully produced large prints from my photographs. I was very pleased with the results and definitely plan on using his printing services for other commissions.
I have had Woodland Studios do several mounting projects for me and each has been incredible. Their eye for detail, matching up documents and photos that we in the frame was incredible. They are the best at what they do!
Stumbled upon Woodland walking to a show at Stoughton Opera House and saw a piece in the window that intrigued us, so we went back the next day. This is a cooperative gallery of artists from around Wisconsin, the Midwest and beyond. It is a very thoughtfully curated collection, and while not all the artists were our speed, many of them were, and all are talented, working in a variety of media. There is sculpture, painted and drawn works, woodworks, furniture, fused glass, blown glass, jewelry and many more. Alan was a great host and new the details on all the artists and all the works. We will have Woodland on our local art tour going forward.
Alan at Woodland studios is incredibly kind and helpful. My sister and I started a very small art business over the Summer and found Woodland Studios as an option to help make high quality prints of our art. They're affordable, efficient, and work with you one-on-one throughout the entire process to ensure you're satisfied with the results. Couldn't be happier!
I highly recommend Woodland Galleries. I had a large print needing a frame. It wasn’t in the greatest condition and presented some framing challenges. Alan Sheets spent a lot of time with me trying out different frame possibilities and discussing pros and cons. He did a terrific job. I love the final product.
Our 45 year old Hagman framed print had fallen and required careful frame and matte replacement. Alan did an excellent job. It is once again hanging on display for our viewing pleasure.
Recently, my husband and I were gifted a watercolor painting of us at our wedding from a dear friend. We put off framing it for a while because we were nervous about the process. We trusted Alan with this project and couldn't be more grateful! He talked us through the entire process and was great to work with. I had an idea for a really ornate frame, but Alan helped me choose something that is simpler and timeless. I'm so glad he shared his expertise with us because the matting and framing turned out beautifully! Alan, we cannot thank you enough and will cherish our new family heirloom for many years to come!
Woodland Studios offers such a variety of beautiful art that customers are sure to find something to their liking. They seek out artists that have unique points of view that are grounded in their practice. The owner, Alan, is thoughtful and very informative, which is wonderful when one is looking for that special piece. Definitely should be on your destination list for beautiful art.
What a wonderful experience. Stopped in as I discovered that Amy Weh's artwork is now on display, so glad I did!
The studio is bright, inviting, and wheelchair accessible - plenty of room to navigate around and take in the wide variety of amazing artwork on display.
Alan is so very friendly and knowledgeable. I appreciated his deep knowledge of the artists on display in the studio, offering insight into who the artists are, their stories, their passions. There is something for everyone here, highly recommend you stop in and say hello. I know I'll be back, as there is so much to take in.
If you appreciate and can afford quality, this is the place to go. As others have mentioned, Alan takes the time to consult, and is evening willing to provide multiple options, providing rationale for each alternative. Yes, you can find cheaper options, but if you want quality work in a quality presentation, that you will appreciate for many years to come, invest in Woodland Studios.
Alan was amazingly helpful and gave us a personal tour. He told us about the various incredible artists as we walked around the store. With an art background himself, Alan chose incredible artists to be a part of the Woodland Studio family. What a most lovely experience and surprise to walk into this studio. We were pulled way in with the variety of fine art and stayed for quite a while.
We love Woodland Studios and stop every time we are in Stoughton.. Carefully curated art, beautiful pieces of different mediums. Lots of affordable and local art as well. Don't miss it! Be sure to check out the back gallery of Alan's personal collection.
Alan is amazing! I drove from Madison last year to have two family heirloom watercolors matted and framed at this great studio. Alan took the time to look over the pieces with me and recommend matting and frames to complement each piece. He turned the pieces around in just a few weeks so I could gift them to my dad for Christmas. He did such a wonderful job that I went back again for another piece this year! I absolutely recommend Alan and Woodland studios - he is wonderful to work with, and his quality is unmatched.
Went to Alan at Woodland Studios to frame a piece for my husband. The work was excellent and reasonably priced. It is obvious that Alan is very knowledgeable and cares about what he does. The curation in his gallery is also gorgeous.
Woodland Studios is a treasure! My husband and I spent at least an hour with the owner, Alan Sheets, while he took the time to share his expertise on pieces we were interested in. He shared his personal art gallery with us which is spectacular. He has pieces you would find in museums but here they are....so close... and free for viewing.
Treat yourself and stop in and see the beautiful art Alan has on display from local and national artists.
Happened upon this gallery by accident. The owner was kind to share local history of one the artists, Gary Kvalheim. Gary turns gourds into fine art with extremely, precise detail of a level that would be hard to match. There are a variety of art styles presented, and it would be hard not to fall in love with many of the pieces here. Framing is also offered.
I would highly recommend the framing services at Woodland Studios. I had 4 small quilling cards and a large print matted and framed. Alan and Heather took great care in helping select the perfect look for my projects. I couldn’t be any happier with the results. What a gem of a local gallery and expert talent Alan has for framing. I’ll be back for sure. Reasonably priced and highly professional staff and work.
What an amazing hidden gem, right in little Stoughton, WI. The Woodland Studios is a collection of local art, but the quality of the pieces makes you forget you are in small town Wisconsin. Great selection of pieces and they offer framing services too. Will definitely be back.
