Please help us welcome our newest oil painter and pastel artist - Georgene Pomplun! Georgene works in both mediums with a passion for the subject matter that is hard to miss.
Her landscapes are filled with light that she captures expertly. Weather it be the early light of morning, the intense light of midday, or the beautiful glow of evening's golden hour, Georgene uses the light to convey a sense of place and time. The light often gives the work a sense of nostalgia as she captures landscapes such as the small family farm that is rapidly disappearing. She paints these places as a way to preserve and remember a way of life that has sustained many families in rural Wisconsin.
When working in pastel she focuses on still life florals which are vibrant and energetic, the polar opposite of "still". Vigorus marks shooting out of the vase lead up to a burst of color like fireworks shooting up into the night sky. She truly captures the life within these otherwise still blooms.
We currently have four of her beautiful oil landscapes available at the gallery. Keep an eye out for her pastel work to be arriving in the near future!
