Artist Bio
I have dedicated my life to honoring the beauty of nature.
As a lifelong lover of nature, I am committed to protecting the great outdoors, and one of the ways I do so is by bringing nature's creatures to life in my artwork. For over forty years, I have spent countless hours honoring Mother Nature with intricate and uncannily lifelike depictions of the natural world.
Each of my carvings is a one-of-a-kind work of art. There are no conveyor belts, casting moulds, or 3-D printers. Every piece is hand carved from start to finish.
I began studying painting in the 1980's, and experienced an epiphany in 1984 at an art exhibit at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Museum in Wausau. The exhibit, entitled "Birds in Art", was unlike any I had seen before. The woodcarvings were so precisely executed that on first glance, I was convinced the birds were alive, resting in mid-flight at the exhibit. I left the museum believing I had discovered my true calling and resolved to become a Master Wood Sculptor. Armed with my passion for nature, my artist's eye and my resolve, I began carving. The rest as they say is history and I have been a full-time artist since 1988.
