Francie Ginocchio
Artist Bio
Francie Ginocchio has been a fiber artist for over 45 years and is respected for her work throughout the Midwest. Her fiber art ranges from small hand-felted landscapes inspired by Wisconsin scenes, to art quilts created with hand-dyed fabrics using Shibori techniques.
Her felted landscapes with hand stitched and beaded details, capture the many moods and colors of Wisconsin seasons. Her art quilts, with a flair for color and design, can be found in businesses, public buildings and private homes. Francie’s career includes judging and lecturing at quilt symposiums, teaching quilt workshops as well as editing quilt book publications.
Known for fine craftsmanship and attention to detail, Francie’s artwork can be found at UW Hospitals and Clinics (Madison, WI), Mayo Clinic (Rochester, MN), Samaritan Bethany (Rochester, MN), Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance (Milwaukee, WI), Appleton Heart Institute (Appleton, WI) and commissions for the Children’s Music Network. Other works have found homes in Japan, Ireland, England and Costa Rica.
