John Denver at a 1971 peace rally!
I was watching a Vietnam War Stories program on PBS, and one of the soldiers spoke of it as "just another war started by old men, and fought by young boys".
This reminded me that today...
There are now over 100,000* civilian deaths in Iraq and Afghanistan! We need to remember, every day innocent people are dying, families destroyed, and children orphaned because of the war we started there. These are the 'forgotten dead' who we don't talk about, or
think about... but who we all share responsibility for with our tax dollars... and even worse, ambivalence and silence.
Think how life might be if we were as passionate about peace as we are about our prosperity! It's never to late to speak up... 'War is not the path to peace!'... it's time to stop all wars! * View actual statistics at www.IraqBodyCount.org .
Dear Cindy, Wow! Thanks for the excellent customer service! You really inspired Linda and I as we visited your store! As an art teacher and spinner and want-to-be knitter, I have rarely had such a positive experience in an art store! I will tell everybody I know to frequent your shop, and if I get up to Stoughton again for Suttin d' mai (how do you spell that?) Yours will be the first shop I visit, and I'll bring my mini mittens to show you!? (Lord willing, if I'm able to do them!) Thanks for the fine example of service! Fondly, Lora
