Woodland uses the best printers / inks available.
We produce museum quality prints on archival materials that will last for generations. Our Epson 9600 prints sizes up to 44" wide by 10' feet long, on a wide variety of sheet or roll fed materials including acid-free art papers, canvas, vinyl, poster board and more. Standard pricing is based on 720 dpi resolution (photo lab quality) but is capable of print resolutions up to 2880 x 1440 dpi. It uses Epson's revolutionary 7 color, UltraChrome® ink system featuring the stability of pigmented inks with color gamuts that rival water based dyes. Depending on inks / materials, fade resistant ratings generally range 80-200 years*.
What is Woodland's background expertise?
We've been doing high-end color proofing and printing for over 25 years. Long before digital printing ever even existed we were doing high quality color work for some of the world's largest consumer products companies. Since the early 80s, Woodland has been well known as one of the first to embrace new technologies and offer digital creative services. Today, with a focus on fine arts, we're applying our knowledge, technical skills, and experience to produce the most affordable, high quality, museum quality printing available anywhere, at any price.
Why does Woodland do 'Giclée' printing for other artists?
We’re artists ourselves, and need it for our own work, so offering the service to others at a low price helps us pay for our equipment. 'Giclée' prints are the best way for artists to make fine art prints of their work. But working with printers or service bureaus can be very expensive. Usually, their 'per print' costs plus steep scanning and proofing charges, quickly make it cost prohibitive for most artists. At Woodland, we leverage our background and low overhead to offer a better printing service for artists at a much lower price.

Too often the first people to profit from an artist's prints are the galleries or the printers. We designed our pricing so artists can begin making money on the first print, not the fourth or fifth. Also, our 20% Artist Discount plus our 15% Quantity Discount allows artists to set a reasonable price point for selling their work in galleries, and still make a decent profit. We're happy to talk with artists, and even share our pricing formulas we use for our own work to help you establish profitable pricing strategies for your work.
